about me

My name is Ani, and I began my entrepreneurial journey at the age of 13 as a student in the Boca Chamber of Commerce’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA). That’s when I first developed the idea for a business that would create upcycled jewelry to raise awareness about environmental sustainability.

In 2023, I was honored with the Pearl Award in recognition of that vision. Around that time, I felt encouraged and motivated to take things further—launching this website and scaling the idea into a full nonprofit. Today, my mission is to support the education of underprivileged children in India through the sale of handmade artisan jewelry, both with repurposed and new materials. While I no longer create each piece by hand, I design and sketch every concept myself and send it to talented artisans in India—many of whom come from under-resourced communities and are managed by my creative and ingenious grandmother. This partnership allows me to remain deeply connected to the design process while uplifting others through meaningful, purpose-driven work.

As someone of Indian heritage, this journey has helped me reconnect with my roots and culture in a powerful and personal way. Soon, I’ll be showcasing a gallery of my signed, hand-drawn designs so you can see the heart and inspiration behind each piece—from sketch to story.

My Experience

I started making jewelry in 2020 close to when the quarantine started. I began with simply paper clips for wire, old necklaces, and some materials borrowed from my school's innovation lab. I spent days experimenting with different designs and styles. When finally once I showed my mom a ring I made, she thought it was brilliant and suggested creating more things like that. That's where my journey began.

My Vision

My vision is to be able to bring more attention to the underprivileged in third world countries such as my own. I want to grow Cosmic Child into an organization that can not only help kids get the education they need, but also to inspire others to want to make a difference in the world and to be the change they wish to see.

The Akanksha Fund

Every purchase made through this nonprofit directly funds the education of a child in India for an entire year. The proceeds are donated to a carefully chosen nonprofit organization The Akansha Fund, which works on the ground to provide access to quality education, school supplies, uniforms, and mentorship for underprivileged students in rural and underserved communities. I chose this organization because its mission deeply resonates with me: education is the most powerful tool we can give someone to transform their future. As a student myself, I know how life-changing access to learning can be—and I believe every child deserves that chance, regardless of where they’re born. Supporting this cause allows me to blend creativity, cultural pride, and purpose into every design, and ensures that each piece of jewelry becomes part of a bigger story of hope and opportunity.
